Church Bulletin

We are excited that you have come to visit us and we hope that you can sit back and enjoy our family. This year has been a very full and especially busy one.

To begin, Thomas Spencer Church is still the baby of the family but is quickly outgrowing his brothers. He is not quite two yet, but is already wearing 3T clothes. He loves his older brothers very much and is always imitating their actions to be a big boy like them. There are some days when the older boys can be heard screaming for help because Tommy is playing too rough. He is also very much into fire trucks, police cars, etc. – it must be a genetic thing… This summer Tommy started nursery (Sunday school for children 18 months to 3 years). Mommy is so happy that he loves going. He has been so much fun and he brings much love and happiness to our family.

Michael James Church is now 4 ½. His silly faces and attitude keep us laughing. There are times when he sometimes makes it difficult for us to discipline him when he looks at us cross-eyed and says, “Hey - I see two mommies!” He is very excited to go to Kindergarten in Fall 2003 and has been making leaps and bounds in his writing. Mikey is our most sensitive one. He loves to cuddle and snuggle. He loves his daddy very much and tries to be just like him. Daddy and Mikey now have another thing to bond over. Just recently, Mikey learned (on his own) how to flip his eyelids inside out, just like dad.
This was also Michael’s first year of soccer. We call it “The flower picking and spotting airplanes hour”. He had a lot of fun and eventually learned the object of the game. When Michael grows up he wants to be Spiderman.

Zachary Ammon Church is now 5 ½. This year has been especially full for our little social butterfly. In the fall he began Kindergarten and is excited to go everyday. He was able to sing in a Christmas concert in school. Singing is one of his favorite hobbies. His favorite song is “God Bless the U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood. He sings both verses and then as his finale he sings “The Star Spangled Banner”. This summer he also played on a soccer team. Zachary’s heroes are any type of fireman, policeman, soldier, or any other kind of “cool” guy. When he grows up he wants to be a fireman or a police officer – the answer depends on which day you ask him.

Someday, we hope for a little girl, but we are very grateful for our sweet boys who fill our lives with love, laughter, and never a dull moment.

Zack is still working at Dentrix Dental Systems. He enjoys it and works full time as a software designer, and is a freelance web developer. He is also attending Utah Valley State College as a full time student. He is working towards a degree in Computer Science with an emphasis in networking and web development. He has been on the honor roll consistently and looks forward to the day when he’ll graduate. Even though these two activities keep him very busy, his first priority is his family.

Amber has been busy as well, chasing after three little boys. In April she was called to be the 2nd counselor in our Church’s Primary Presidency. (Sunday school and singing time plus quarterly activities for the children ages 3 to 12.) She is loving every minute of it. As of last weekend she has now been called as the 1st counselor. This has been a very exciting and fulfilling time for her. She also kept busy by planning and co-hosting our 2nd annual Christmas party. We had a lot of fun spending time with a few of our friends. She is also one of the room moms for Zachary’s Kindergarten class.

The most recent addition to our family has been (thankfully) a van. It’s a ’99 Chevrolet 15-passenger van, and we finally have plenty of room for all of us. Each boy has his own bench in the van, with one bench to spare. Previously, with our Buick Skylark, we had to cram all three of the boys’ car seats into the back seat, and hope the boys didn’t beat each other senseless before we reached our destination. The gas mileage is about 1/3 to 1/2 of what the Buick had, but the convenience and extra space is definitely worth it.

We want to wish you all Happy Holidays and warm wishes for the New Year. Each day as we watch our family play, laugh, and grow; we count the numerous blessings which our Father in Heaven has given to us. We ALL have a great deal to be grateful for.
